Concrete post features
- High-quality, sustainable materials: all the materials used to make our concrete compost bins come exclusively from Germany – ensuring both quality and sustainability.
- In-house high-performance concrete: we make the entire compost bin from our own specially developed, extremely strong high-performance concrete, which guarantees durability and stability.
- Easy access to finished compost: every board can be removed individually and effortlessly, making it simple to get at the finished compost.
- Angled boards for optimum ventilation: the angled arrangement means the compost rests mainly on the edges of the boards, ensuring good airflow and improving the quality of the compost.
- Quick to assemble and dismantle: the special design makes the compost bin quick and easy to put up and take down.
Compost bin components
- Steel-reinforced concrete posts: for stability and durability.
- Robust timber boards: a choice of timbers, including spruce boards lasting approx. 10 years and larch boards lasting at least 20 years thanks to their high resin content, planed or unplaned.
- Steel connectors: the ends are sealed with dome nuts to prevent injuries and give a high-quality finish.
- Galvanised or stainless steel: for extra weather resistance.
Standard dimensions
- Height: 100 cm (standard for all compost bins)
- Length and width: 100 × 100 cm as standard (compost volume per bay: 850 litres)
- Recommended maximum: we recommend not exceeding 170 × 170 cm per bay, so as not to compromise the stability of the compost bin
Our recommendation
We recommend placing paving slabs under the concrete posts. This keeps the compost bin level, as the ground will not settle as much. You can order the slabs from us as an accessory, or buy them slightly more cheaply from a DIY store. The concrete base slabs for the compost bin measure 30 × 30 cm. On request, we can also supply a galvanised wire mesh base – especially recommended if you have problems with mice in your garden, as the mesh makes it much harder for voles to get into the compost bin.
