You can also order individual boards for your compost bin from us. Choose from larch, planed larch or spruce boards. All our boards have a cross-section of 24 × 100 mm, with the length made to measure. The boards slot into our concrete posts at a 45° angle.
Larch is a softwood known for its toughness and durability, especially outdoors.
“Planed” means the timber has a smooth, even surface after processing. Planing removes any unevenness, making the timber more attractive and often easier to work with. Planed larch keeps all the properties of larch – weather-resistant and durable – but with a refined finish.
Spruce is also a softwood, but softer and less resistant than larch. It has a lighter colour (usually pale yellow to white) and a finer grain. Spruce is lighter and easier to work, but less resistant to weather and pests than larch, and tends to deteriorate more quickly outdoors unless it is treated.
Need a single board or a whole new set for your compost bin? No problem – we supply planed larch boards in any length. Important: all our boards have a cross-section of 25 × 100 mm, with the length made to measure. Other cross-sections are unfortunately not available.
